Judge Elizabeth Scherer in her judicial robe

About Judge Liz

She spent a decade deciding what the law required. Now she explains it.

Elizabeth Scherer served more than ten years as a Circuit Court Judge in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, and prosecuted for eleven years before that — her last six in the Career Criminal Unit, first chair on more than seventy-five jury trials.

She has handled over a hundred jury trials in all, including presiding over the Parkland shooter case. She is a partner at Conrad & Scherer and a 2023 Alumni Achievement Award recipient at the University of Miami School of Law.
